Today, Google publicly announced that it is working to resolve a global outage in its Cloud computing network that had taken out a large chunk of Google services as well as Atomx, Shopify, Snapchat, Discord, G Suite, YouTube and other popular apps. The issues largely affected those on the East Coast of the US (that included Atomx), but some YouTube and Gmail users across Europe also reported that they were unable to access the services. Google’s own G Suite Status dashboard showed problems with practically every single Google web service at one point.

For Atomx, on June 2 somewhere between 5 and 6pm UTC the Google Cloud completely lost it. On June 3, service came back live at approximately 07am.

According to a Google statement, the problem seems to be resolved. Still, traffic streams within this timeframe mentioned above cannot be recovered. Google: “We will conduct an internal investigation of this issue and make appropriate improvements to our systems to help prevent or minimize future recurrence. We will provide a detailed report of this incident once we have completed our internal investigation.”
